Period Two (Setion A)—听说课Teaching and learning Goals:

1.Teach the ss know how to use the sentences “when is your birthday?”

“how old are you?”“How old is..?When is his/her birthday?”

2.Ss talk about their birthday days. practice the new paterns. develop the students’ ability of communication by learning the useful structures.

3.I mprove the students’ oral English and Listening skills.

一.Preview

Show some festivals in China ,ask Ss to say the dates of them

New Year’s Day January 1st

Women’s Day March 8th

Tree Planting Day March 12th

International Labor Day(May Day) May 1st

Chinese Youth Day May 4th

Children’s Day June 1st

Party’s Day July 1st

The Army Day August 1st

Teachers’ Day September 10th

The Mid-autumn Festival August 15th

National Day October 1st

Encouage them to say the dates ,and can help them if possible.And lead the target language“When is Teachers’ Day?…。

设计意图:由于新单词上节课已学过,一些有能力的学生可以将自己已有的认识水平与实际运用结合起来,使他们能体会到通过自主学习带来成功的满足感。通过这样的方法再次呈现新单词,既增加了学生的兴趣,又达到了复习目的。

二.Warming up

Step1

1.Ask a student “When is your birthday?Next ask and answer like this in

a role play 。

T: Good morning,Linda.

S1: Good morning!

T: When is your birthday?

S1: My birthday is Match 14th.

T: How old are you?

S1: I’m 13 years old.

S1 (to S2): Hi! When is your birthday?

2. Practice

引入形容词性物主代词:

Practice the sentence:When is your birthday?

My birthday is Match 14th

When is his/her birthday?

His/Her birthday is Match 14th.

Step2 Competition

1.Ask Ss to work in a group to know the birthday of other students。When is your birthday, Li Juan?

My birthday is July 28th.

How old are you?

I’m 12 years old..

1.Play the listening in 1b,lead Ss to number the conversations.Finish up the task of 1b.

2.Play 1b again and work in pairs to practice the conversations by themselves
