Module 1 British and American English
Teaching content: Introduction ,reading and speaking
This period is intended to improve the Ss’reading ability and understand passage well. The Ss will be able to know more about the differences between British and American English and the future development of English. Teaching aims:

Ability objectives:
Improve the students’ ability of skimming, scanning, and fast reading ability and develope their ability of coorperating with each other.
Understand how to express differences between tow things.

Form open and positive attitudes towards different varieties of a language.

How to help students master the strategies to deal with the reading material.

Step I. Revision and lead-in
1. Ask students to share their feelings about the varieties of English after watching and listening to the vedio.
2. Review the vocabulary mentioned about the varieties of English.
Step II. Fast-reading
1. Skimming
1). Read the subtitles and sum up the ways of differences between the two varieties mentioned in the passage.
