FOD Finder
FOD Finder™ is a revolutionary new technology tool used by airports in the combat against the estimated 4 Billion dollars in damage and loss of aircraft utilization. The impact of FOD ultimately cascades into the public sector through avoidable delays in the aviation system resulting in reduced reliability and public confidence. Safety: FOD Finder’s data management system (A.I.R. Boss) provides airport leadership with the ability to perform trend analysis and Safety Risk Assessments (SRM) of hazardous conditions, and identify metrics to reduce the risk of a damaging FOD event while increasing productivity of inspection personnel. The FOD Finder™ has a built-in Runway Incursion Prevention System to warn drivers of oncoming runway and ILS boundaries. FOD Finder™ sees through fog, rain, and nighttime conditions where finding and removing hazards from runways and taxiways is mission critical. Efficiency: FOD Finder™ can inspect a twomile long runway in less than 25% of the time of conventional inspection methods. The speed and effectiveness of FOD Finder™ reduces the time a runway is closed for a detailed safety inspection, increases runway utilization, and improves the productivity of airfield personnel performing inspections.

Hawaii based Loea Corporation led the Nation in creating the first wireless, point-to-point communications technology operating in the radio frequency E-band millimeter spectrum of 71.0-86.0 GHz transferring 1.25 gigabits per second of information. Loea petitioned the FCC to gain access to this area of the spectrum in 2000, and won approval.
