Prerequisite: Translation Theories and Practice
Objectives:
Covering basic translation patterns, translation methods and translation skills in international business promotion and communication, this course is focused on cultivating students’practical translation skills. Based on business knowledge acquisition and authentic business English materials, this course is designed to develop students’ability of English-Chinese / Chinese-English translation and expressing information in a correct way for smooth communication through a large quantity of practical case training.
Content:
Part 1. It is a brief introduction to the history of translation, famous translation theories both at home and abroad, and the key points of this part, essential features and main content of business English translation, whose concepts will be clarified. Students are expected to correctly recognize the quality, task and the object of the study of this course.
Part 2. As the difficult and key parts of this course, essential features and content of business English. are dealt with both in respective chapters and as an organic whole with the general features and methods of business English involved. This course is taught step by step, accompanied with practice and current affairs so as to focus students’ attention on them, lead students into investigations as practices and inspire their enthusiasm of participation.
Part 3. the general translation principles and methods in business translation, which are also the difficult and key parts of this course. Focus is placed on step-by-step teaching of business translation methods and on students’ involvement in practices so as to improve their practical translation ability.
Part 4. To help get acquainted with such importance documents as business contracts, business advertising, business reports and business correspondence and to develop their ability of translating common and importance business documents. Understanding and translating business contracts are the difficult and key points. Course Book:

7 教学目标:
本课程涵盖了一般对外商务推广及商务交往中所涉及到的基本翻译类型、翻译方法和翻译技巧,以培养学生翻译实践能力为核心,以商务英语专业知识及商务英语真实材料为基础,在大量实例训练中锻炼学生在商务语境下有效进行英汉、汉英互译、正确传达信息、顺畅开展交流的能力。
7 教学内容:
第一部分:简述翻译历史、中外著名翻译理论及商务英语翻译的基本特征及涵盖内容。商务英语翻译的特征及涵盖面为本部分的重点,务必使学生概念清晰,要求学生能够正确认识课程的性质、任务及其研究对象。
第二部分:国际商务英语的基本特征及内容。该部分须分成章节融入整体教学内容与商务英语翻译的一般特征及方法有机结合起来。该部分为本课程的重点和难点,注意教授的循序渐进性,并要辅以实践和时事联系,引导学生关注时事、动手去调查研究,充分调动学生的参与积极性。
