1. I think (that) he’ll return in an hour.

4. She asked if/whether she passed the exam.

关联词：1. 当宾语从句是陈述句时，用关联词that引导，且关联词常可省略

2. 当宾语从句是一般疑问句或选择疑问句时，常用关联词if / whether引导，

且关联词不可省略

1. I hear that you were ill last week.

2. I hear that you’ll fly to Hong Kong in a week.

3. I hear that Tom has left for Shanghai.

时态：当主句为一般现在时，从句可选择任何适当的时态

1. I didn’t know (that) Tom had left for Shanghai.

2.Mom asked me whether/if there would be a parents’ meeting.

时态: 当主句为一般过在时从句一般要用过去的某种时态

1. The teacher told us that light travels faster than sound.

2. Susan told us that the earth moves around the sun.

时态：当宾语从句是表达客观事实或自然规律的句子时，不管主句是何种时态，从句仍用一般现在时。

Task 5 Research & Extension: 两个难点

1. 在处理think, believe, suppose, expect等动词后的宾语从句否定时，常遵循否定前移[主句主语常用第一人称]

2. 一般情况下，if与whether可互换，在口语中多用if；但有三种情况只能用whethe r 1. 直接与or not连用时 2.和不定式连用时

3. 从句置于介词后时
