T: Good morning, class!

Step 2 Reading
1. Ask Ss to read the passage on page 48 and finish Activity 1 on page 47. Get them
to focus on the structure of the passage:

Tell Ss: the structure of this kind of writing and words that unusually can be used in this kind of writing:
The structure of An argument essay is composed of one thesis statement and 2 or 3 supporting details connected with some connectives.
For example, you are supposed to write the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet. You should put the thesis statement usually in the last sentence of first para. And the supporting details in the following paragraphs. I’ll give you some words that usually can be used in this kind of writing. Look at the blackboard please.
