Three Dollars Honestly

马克·吐温(1835--1910)。原名为塞廖尔·朗豪恩·克莱门斯(Samuel Larghorne Clemens),是19世纪后期美国现实主义文学的杰出代表。他出生在密苏里州，家境贫寒。1863年前后，他成为记者，开始写通讯报道和幽默小说，从而走上文学道路。1870年他发表了一篇优秀的讽刺作品《竞选州长》。他的代表作有：The Adventure of Tom Sawyer(《汤姆·索耶历险记》)，The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn(《哈克贝里·费恩历险记》)，The Prince and the Pauper(《王子与贫民》)，Running for the Governor,The Gilded Age(《富贵时代》)等。这些小说深刻揭示了当时美国的社会问题。
