Hello everyone.I’m the proponent of this issue. I think America should control gun!That means America should check the buyers background, make laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as school and public areas,and regulate the manufacture, sale of firearms. It benefits the security. There are three main reasons for my opinion.

First,gun is more lethal than other small weapon like knife and iron rod. There is a higher rate that you will die when you are shot,but not when you are chopped or struck.If guns were less available, criminals might commit the same crime, but with less-lethal weapons. And the result might not be too horrible,there is fewer tragedies.

In addition, there are lots of accidental firearm deaths every year,because it is difficult to use a gun properly.On the contrary,enacting gun control laws would reduce the number of accidental gun deaths.

Second，more gun control laws would lead to fewer suicides .Between 1999 and 2013 there were over270,000firearm suicides in the United State.According to a study published in the International Review of Law and Economics,when gun ownership went down ,overall suicide rates went down.

Third,more gun restrictions would reduce gun homicides,because buyers’ background have been checked.In contrast,widespread gun ownership without controlling would increase the danger of gun violence,even more homicides.Most tragically,there has been over 50 school shootings in recent years in America,which caused lots of children’ s deaths.So if we make prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill,the homicides must be reduced.

In conclusion,America should control gun.Thank you.
