Exxon Mobil is the world's largest company by revenue and one of the largest publicly traded companies by market capitalization in the world. The company is ranked first globally in Forbes Global 2000 list in 2012.Exxon Mobil's reserves were 72 billion oil-equivalent barrels at the end of 2007 and, at then (2007) rates of production, are expected to last over 14 years. With 37 oil refineries in 21 countries constituting a combined daily refining capacity of 6.3 million barrels (1,000,000 m3), Exxon Mobil is the largest refiner in the world, a title that was also associated with Standard Oil since its incorporation in 1870.

In 2008, this was approximately 3% of world production, which is less than several of the largest stateowned petroleum companies. When ranked by oil and gas reserves it is 14th in the world with less than 1% of the total.

Exxon Mobil Corporation is an American multinational oil and gas corporation. It is a direct descendant of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company, and was formed on November 30, 1999, by the merger of Exxon and Mobil. Its headquarters are in Irving, Texas. It is affiliated with Imperial Oil which operates in Canada.

1、1999年11月30日,美国联邦贸易委员会批准了 埃克森石油公司和美孚石油公司合并。 2、埃克森美孚斥资16.9亿美元收购Marcellus页岩 资产,相当于增加了2280亿立方英尺的探明天然气 储备。
节能减排战略
1、2000年启动“全球能源管理系统(GEMS)” ,使公司 炼油厂和化工厂的能效提高了15%~20%,避免了约800万吨 温室气体(GHG)排放。 2、2009年3月24日宣布,在比利时安特卫普炼油厂新建的 高效热电联产装置投产除了发电125MW外,新的联产装置还 使比利时二氧化碳排放减少约20万吨/年,相当于欧盟道路上 减少了约9万辆汽车的二氧化碳排放量。
