科技英语翻译_摘要

Abstract

With the rapid development of science and technology in the whole world, Scientific English has been developed into an important language in the field of science and technology. Since the 1970s, it has raised numerous attentions and led to much research among different nations. English for science and technology plays an important role in scientific and technical communication all over the world. To put it into more common use, translators have translated many scientific and technical documents. This paper discusses the features and some translation approaches of Scientific English.

The paper is divided into five sections. In the first part, it introduces the development of Scientific English, what the Scientific English contains and the features of scientific documents.

The second part is most important part of this paper, shows the main feature of English for science and technology.This paper looks into the features of Scientific English from lexical level to sentence level and to text level.

The third part includes the basic conceptions and principles of translation. It focuses on what translation is, what the principles of translation are, the literal and free translation approaches.

The fourth part introduces the methods of the translation of Scientific English based on different levels according to the analysis on the second part of this thesis.

The fifth part gives some points which may be important to the improvement of the translation.

The last part of this paper sums up the main points of the paper and gives some idea about the future and important of English for science and technology.

摘要

随着世界范围内科学技术的飞速发展，科技英语渐渐成为一种重要的语体。二十世纪七十年代后，科技英语吸引了世界各国的广泛注意，同样各国学者也做了大量针对科技英语的研究。就全世界而言，科技英语在世界科技交流中起着十分重要的作用。为了更为广泛的学习传播科学技术，许多翻译工作者翻译了很多的科技性的文件。本文将主要将对科技英语的特点及翻译方法进行分析研究。

本文共有五个部分。第一部分主要介绍科技英语的发展，及科技英语文件的特点。

第二部分是本文的重点，这部分讨论了科技英语的主要特点。本文从科技英语的不同层面进行了分析，首先是词汇，再到句型，再到篇章。

第三部分主要包括翻译的一些基本概念和原则。主要讨论翻译是什么，翻译的原则是什么，及直译与意译的定义。

第四部分对科技英语的翻译进行了分析。这部分分析以前文中科技英语的特点分析为基础。

第五部分提出一些对提高科技英语翻译水平的几点建议。

最后一部分对全文进行了概括总结，并对科技英语将来的重要性做出了分析。
