The main idea is implied, which means you have to figure it out by asking“What is the topic of the paragraph?” To find the answer to the question, you must see what subject is constantly being referred to. Once you have found the topic, ask yourself,“What is the author’s main point being made about the topic?”Your answer should be broad enough to include all the supporting details in the paragraph. This will be the main idea.
