1.1 增加动词（p58)

1.9 增加根据上下文需要及反映背景情况的词（p65)
• This great scientist was born in New England. • 这位伟大的科学家出生在美国东北部的新英格兰。
• 连大地都震动了，仿佛万马奔腾，千夫怒吼。
汉语名词的复数没有词形变化，如需表达出来， 在名词后面加“们”，或前面加“各（诸）”，
还可增加重叠词，数词或其它。

1.6 增加表达时态的词（p63)
英语
英语动词的时态靠动词词 形变化或加助动词来表达。
汉语
汉语动词没有词形变化，表达 时态要靠增加汉语特有的时态 助词或一般表示时间的词。

• I had known two great social systems. • 那时以前，我就经历过两大社会制度。
• I declare, John, you’ve grown a foot! • 译文：说真的，约翰，你长高一尺啦。
汉语有许多语气助词，可以发生不同的 作用，英译汉时细心体会原文，增加一些
汉语所特有的语气助词，可以更好地 表达原作的意义和修辞色彩。
1.8 增加量词（p64)
英语中数词（包括不定冠词a）与可数 名词往往直接连用，它们之间没有量词， 而汉语却往往要借用量词。因此翻译 时应根据汉语表达习惯恰当地增加 表示形状、特征或材料的名量词。
小结
•英文原文中使用了重复修辞手法的， 汉译时一般要相应重复。
•英文原文中省略了成分的， 汉译时应考虑是否需要重复。
•第二种情况也属于增译的一种。
翻译技巧——增译法 amplification (addition)

两种语言文字之间所存在的巨大差异，在 实际翻译过程中很难做到词句上完全对应， 因此，为了准确地传达原文的信息，往往

增译法就是在翻译时按意义上（或修辞上） 和句法上的需要增加一些词来更忠实 通顺地表达原文的思想内容。
