Having found enough people interested in the position, the recruiting firm can start the selection process, which usually begins with reading job applications and résumés from applicants.

The Human Resources management process is an ongoing procedure that tries to keep the organization supplied with the right people in the right positions. It includes such basic activities as human resource planning(规划), recruitment (招聘), selection(选拔), socialization(定位), training and development(培训与培养), performance appraisal(业绩评价), promotions(提 拔), transfers(调动), demotions(降级), separations(解聘), and compensation(补偿).

Without people, organizations would not exist. While this idea may not be much of a revelation (启示)to you, it brings home the point that organizations are made up of people.

Managers use a variety of words to describe the importance of people to their organizations. The term “human resources” implies that people have capacities that drive organizational performance (along with other resources such as money, materials, information, and the like). Other terms such as “human capital” and “intellectual assets(知识财富、资产)” all have in common idea that people make the difference in how an organization performs.
