我系对该课程的具体定位是: 综合英语课程是学习掌握应用英语专业其他职业技能课程的工具,体现在言语技能培养和语言知识传授的承上启下的作用上,即在巩固学生中学阶段所掌握的基本听说技能(语音和听力)基础上,通过语篇和词法的学习深化英语技能,真正为高职应用英语专业的后续专业知识和专业技能课程突出职业性、实践性和开放性提供工具支持。

二、课程设计的理念与思路综合英语从整体上强化、突出英语听说读写技能,强调学用结合,即真正实现英语语言要素(语音,句法和词法)和基本技能(听说读写)之间的沟通和综合。
1.倡导“提高学生英语语言实际应用能力,服务于应用型、复合型人才培养”的教学指导思想。
本课程的教学目标是培养学生的英语语言综合应用能力,尤其是快速获取信息(听和阅读)的能力和通顺流畅的表达(说和写)能力,以便学生能在涉外交际实践活动中,用英语进行很好的沟通,交流。
2.确定“模块化集中教学”的模式。
一方面,教学实践中将语音、词汇和语法按照模块进行教学,并通过练习达到英语语言要素的无缝式衔接;另一方面,通过综合英语的篇章阅读教学、词法教学及写作等相关技能和知识的扩展性训练,进而全面提高学生英语的运用水平。
3.以学生为本位,培养学生的自主学习能力。
