Point of View (POV)
There are several difference points-of-view: first-person limited, first-person omniscient, thirdperson limited, third-person unlimited, thirdperson omniscient. You have to decide which one will work best in your essay; then, be sure to consistent and never confuse readers by shifting POV.

Recognizing Purpose The main purpose of your narration is to make a point by telling your audience a story. To satisfy your audience, your story must have an overall purpose or point which may be explicitly stated or left for the audience to infer from the writing. Recognizing Audience Do remember your audience. This will help you select the information and language that best suit their interests.
Round Character (believable personality) VS Flat Character

Conflict

External Conflict An external conflict adds tension and suspense. It invites readers to get through details and to discover the resolution of struggles. (man & man、man & society、 man & nature、man & fate) Internal Conflict An internal conflict means a character struggles with his personality, and the demands are always opposite to his nature.

Compressing and Expanding Compressing (time speeding up) and expanding (time slowing down) are two other writing skills which enable you to create a desired effect in your narration. Time signals Chronological connectors help readers recognize when you are moving and shifting.
Narration
What Is Narration?
In a word, narration is storytelling. Narration goes hand in hand with description, and the only difference is that a narration must involve a story. Narration can be purely made-up, such as fiction novels, but it can be a record of actual facts as well, such as biographies or new stories.

Scene
Creating a scene structure is just as important as the other story elements. Every scene should have a beginning, middle, and an end; as for the elements involved, a scene should have a goal, conflict, and dilemma as well, besides, the conflict and dilemma of each scene should contribute to overall conflict and dilemma of your story.
Logical Time Sequence

Flashback It takes readers back in time to reveal an event that occurred in the past, and is a useful tool for inserting something necessary into a narration. Flash-forward It refers to a future event represented ahead of time in your narration. By shaking up the time order on purpose, you grab readers’ attentions more quickly.
