教学目标:

1.记忆单词:turn, right, left, crossing, spend, climb, road, often, air, free, enjoy, easily, money

短语:go along, turn right, turn left, on the right, look like, walk out, walk along, go down 句型:Is there a …?

Yes, there is.Just go along…and turn left/right.

It’s on the right/left.

Turn right/left at the…crossing.

2.掌握不同的交通标志及其用英语的表述。

3.能理解文章大意并完成阅读任务。通过三个同学对自己住处的描述,培养学生爱自己的社区。

教学内容:

1.继续学习、运用there be句型进行问路、指路,运用介词短语表达位置。

2.做听力练习,熟练地进行问路和指路的话题,阅读中学习、运用本单元词汇和句型,表示“直行、转弯”和“道谢”。

3.读懂文章,完成阅读任务。

教学重难点:

1. 运用go along,turn right/left等短语回答他人问路。并能够运用介词短语清楚地说明位置。

2. 能够读懂别人叙述的路线,并运用短文中指路词汇和句型完整描述小区的环境设施。

教学过程:

StepⅠ.Lead in

Leading in 【情景1】

Warm up by asking for the directions.

T: Good morning/afternoon, boys and girls.

Ss:Good morning/afternoon, Mr./Ms.××.

T:Look at the map of the city.(Show the city map in 3a.) Is there a bank near here?

S1:Yes.

T: Where is it?

S1:It’s across from the park, on New Street.

S2: It’s next to the post office.

T:Yes.It’s across from the park, next to the post office.

T:Now everyone comes up with a question.Then other students give the directions.Who’d like to try first?

S1: Where is the pay phone?

S2: It’s next to the police station.

S3: Where is the post office?

Ask some students to practice the conversations.

Leading in 【情景2】

After greeting, the teacher gets the students to review the direction words.

T: Hello, everyone! Good morning/afternoon!

Ss: Good morning/afternoon! Mr./Ms.××.

Ask some pairs to make a conversation.

T: (Show the picture.) Who can ask and answer about the picture?

S1: Is there a post office near here?

S2: Yes, there is.It’s next to the supermarket.

T: Who can make a different conversation?

Show more pictures on PPT.Ask students to make different conversations by using the target language.

StepⅡ.Presentation(1a)

1.Show some traffic signs and teach new words and expressions.

T:We can often see some traffic signs on the road.(Show the pictures of Section B 1a by PPT.)What does this sign mean?

Ss: Go along.(Help them to answer.)

Teach“go along”.(Write it on the blackboard.)

Read it together twice.

Teach other traffic signs and learn new words“turn, left, right, crossing”.

Get the class to read these new words.

T: I’ll show you some traffic signs.Please tell the meanings in English.

(Show traffic signs.)

2.Work on 1a

T: Match the words with the signs in 1a.

Check the answers.

Ss: Yes, they are here, on New Street.
