惠州市位于广东省东南部，珠江三角洲东北端，南临南海大亚湾，与深圳、香港毗邻，是中国大陆除深圳市外距离香港最近的城市。惠州市属珠三角经济区，现辖惠城、惠阳两区和博罗、惠东、龙门三县，设有大亚湾经济技术开发区和仲恺高新技术产业开发区两个国家级开发区。陆地面积1.12万平方公里，占珠三角经济区面积的1/4。海域面积4520平方公里，海岸线长223.6公里，是广东省的海洋大市之一。常住人口321万。

Huizhou is located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, the northeast end of Pearl River Delta, to the north of Daya Bay of South China Sea and adjacent to Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Apart from Shenzhen, Huizhou is the second mainland city closest to HongKong. Huizhou is in the Pearl River Delta economic zone. Under its jurisdiction, there are Huicheng and Huiyang Districts, and Boluo, Huidong and Longmen Counties. Huizhou has two state-level development zones: Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone and Zhongkai Hi-Tech Development Zone. Huizhou has a land area of 11,200 square kilometers, as big as one quarter of the Pearl River Delta economic zone. With a sea area of 4,520 square kilometers and a coastline of 223.6 kilometers, Huizhou is one of Guangdong Province's sea cities. The permanent population of Huizhou is 3.21 million.
